11 November 2011 - ADDIS ABABA – ICASA 2011 awarded 800 local and international scholarship, and more than 330 sponsorship locally. The 800 scholarship is targeted to all scholarship categories, of which some are fully funded, while others are partially funded. In a similar development, more than 330 sponsorship is awarded to local participants from different organizations to take part and share experiences in the conference.

The recipients of the award include institutions such as: sector ministries, faith based organizations, higher education institutions, research institutions, hospitals, civil service organizations, PLHIV, youth and women associations, and community based organizations among others.

ICASA 2011 will be held from 4-8 December 2011, under the theme “OWN, SCALE-UP & SUSTAIN”. The conference provides a forum for exchange of knowledge, skills and consolidation of experiences and best practices in Africa and around the globe to scale up evidence-based response to HIV/AIDS/STIs, TB and Malaria to achieve the MDGs. To this end, the participation of the local organizations in the conference is invaluable to further the efforts made on the responses of HIV and AIDS in Ethiopia.
