02 November 2011, ADDIS ABABA –32 days to the 16th International Conference on AIDS and STIs in Africa, the ICASA 2011 Organizing Body herald that the regular registration period is extended until November 24, 2011.

It is to be recalled that regular registration was bound to end on 1st November 2011, however based on the requests from interest groups and individuals; the organizing body convened a short review and decided to extend the period by three weeks more. Accordingly, the regular registration fee remains applicable till 24 November 2011.

The 16th International Conference on AIDS and Sexually Transmitted Infections in Africa (ICASA) will be held from 4-8 December 2011, under the theme “OWN, SCALE-UP & SUSTAIN”. This year’s conference is expected to host more than 10,000 delegates from around the world.

ICASA 2011marks:

• 30th year after AIDS was first discovered as a threat to human being
• 10th year since the United Nations General Assembly Political Declaration on AIDS; and
• 5th year after the Declaration towards universal access to HIV prevention, treatment, care and support.

The ICASA Secretariat strongly recommends that applicants should get registered early with no charge added to
the original registration fee and take part in this historic conference.
